Educators at Ronald Brown Academy in Detroit brought a unique twist to the typical math curriculum found in today’s classrooms. Mrs. Rolanda Matthews; a 4th grade teacher at the school, wanted to give her students real world experience in problem-solving and show how math is applied in different industries. She was also looking for a project that would help the students contribute to the community and chose Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids to collaborate with! Maggie Varney our Founder & CEO and Jackie our Administrative Salon Coordinator joined Dwayne Sylvester of Hair Creations Studio Salon and his staff to teach the children how to measure hair wefts. The kids participated in a hands-on activity with stylists; sewing hair into caps to make wigs right before their eyes.
