What a sweet story! Piper is one of our newest wig recipients at Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan, Inc who was recently diagnosed with alopecia; an auto-immune disorder causing hair loss. Her hair has been falling out rapidly, so Piper's mom reached out to our organization for support. While we're ordering a custom human-hair wig to meet Piper's needs, she was fitted for a synthetic "play" wig to get used to the idea of wearing one - it's a great teaching tool! The "play" wig lets her practice putting a wig on, brushing it and enjoying the feeling of having hair again.
Mom writes, "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making Piper’s day so special!! You and your team went above and beyond our expectations and we cannot thank you enough!!! We are forever grateful. Piper has been enjoying her new “play” wig and is excited to receive her very own when it’s ready!"
